Doug Liman, responsible for Mr & Mrs Smith (review) and the Bourne movies, is set to work on the adaptation of an Italian novel called Vaporetto 13, and it sounds like a very interesting tale.

The storyline revolves around an American industrial diver who has a strange premonition that comes true when he discovers a submerged church in Venice that no one knows about. The church holds a dangerous secret that brings him into contact with an otherworldly woman.

Now that sounds interesting, a bit of mystery, intrigue and other worldness. However will the project go light and allow some subtlety, or will it turn into another Bourne\Smith film?
