Downey Jr. to write memoirs

RobertDowneyJr.jpgRobert Downey Jr is set to write and publish his memoirs. That's all the story really needs to say because we all know so much about his public facing life that already this story is sounding superb and spot on movie material.

The story comes from The Guardian:

The 41-year-old actor has signed a deal with HarperEntertainment, an imprint of HarperCollins Publishers, the company announced Thursday. The book is set to be released in 2008.

..."He has an intelligence which shines through all his performances, revealing his intellect as well as his acting abilities," Marjorie Braman, an executive with the publishing company, said Thursday. ``His dramatic personal life, often at odds with his career, adds a layer of complexity to who he is.''

I'd be really interested to read this, although it is at odds with my belief of keeping the gossip, private life separate from the star side. I would be interested to find out how someone with so much talent and promise slides off the rails, and how he has pulled it back so many times, but this time seems to have made it stick.

What do you think? Would this make a great movie? Who would play Downey if not himself?

The movie could be outstanding, but only Downey himself could play it, write it, and direct it. I am waiting for that book to come.

Only Downey could play Downey. I will be the first in line to read this book. The man is a genius.

I have to agree, I will definitely wait for this to come out!

I finally figured out today's movie rating system: G means the hero gets the girl; R means the villain gets the girl, and X means everybody gets the girl.
