Oh sweet lord. The classic Evil Dead movie has now been turned into a musical and it seems an interactive one at that. This trend is becoming ridiculous, I would at this point in a story normally say "what next?...[insert bizarre film here]" but Evil Dead is probably the craziest. Unless they could make a musical of Audition, although that might actually work as an opera!

The story from Variety through Empire tells us that it is set to start in New York in October and will feature a splatter zone in the first few rows, this promises to be truly interactive.

The plot roughly follows the film’s story, but focuses on a group of friends – instead of just Ash – who unleash the evil at the secluded woods cabin

Well perhaps this might turn out to be some fun, and follow in the vein of the interactive showings of Sound of Music or the participation version of Rocky Horror Picture Show? Or is it just another daft move by execs?
