Angelina Jolie is really filling up her film slate after her short time away, now she's set to join a pretty serious drama about the kidnapping and murder of Daniel Pearl by Pakistani militants based on his wife's memoirs as she tries to locate him.

According to Variety through Coming Soon the film will be directed by Michael Winterbottom, produced (amazingly enough) by Brad Pitt's Plan B, and shooting is expected to begin in a mere five weeks.

The film sounds an horrific and emotionally draining one, but also a very strong and worthy tale. For those of you who don't know, Pearl was kidnapped and eventually being murdered. Emotional tale it will be, but definitely one we should see, and Jolie certainly would be able to handle this role well.
