MPAA asks you for advice
The MPAA, the Motion Picture Association of America, is creating a survey group from the public to consult on all matters of their work from piracy to home cinema. This follows a small survey they recently carried out which opened their eyes to the world of Internet opinion.
According to Variety they are aiming to sign up around fifteen thousand members of the public to the panel and survey them from time to time.
"One lesson learned from our survey was that understanding rapidly changing consumer demands is essential," Glickman said.Hence "My Movie Muse," which Glickman described as "an online consumer panel that will allow people who don't work in the entertainment industry to have input on issues pertaining to the movie industry."
Panel members will take part in quarterly surveys focusing on issues related to specific demographics. MPAA will then share the info with the industry so that it can track developments or changes in the market.
You can sign up for the panel over at MyMovieMews, however please do note that if you are outside the US they leave this question until the end to tell you that you can't sign up. Shouldn't that be the first question? I knew this going in by the way, I just wanted to see!
