Robin Williams joins Bourne Ultimatum?

Robin Williams may well be taking a part in the next Bourne film, The Bourne Ultimatum, playing the part of one of Bourne's family members.

The rumour comes from Cinescape through Jo Blo, and I think it's a huge shame.

They say he's going to play some family member or a link to his past, and I just see this as a waste of William's talent. If you think back to One Hour Photo you can see what he's truly capable of, and he really does deserve a lead for his acting talent. Playing second, third or even fourth fiddle in this film really doesn't make me excited. Do you think this is a bit of a waste? What do you think of his acting talents?

Williams has become brilliant through the help of directors, writers, etc. keeping him in check. In Toys (a movie I liked but agree had problems) you see him completely out of control doing "his thing", but in movies like the Fisher King, Good Will Hunting, One Hour Photo...dare I say Death to Smoochy...he's incredible.

As far as it being a waste, I don't really think so. This will be a bit of a departure for him so that in and of itself will make it interesting to see what he can do, and it may make the 3rd Bourne movie a bit different from its predecessors.
