The Dark (review) was quite a good horror and had plenty of potential, not to mention Maria Bello and Sean Bean, but there were problems with it and the recent DVD release announcement might just address those.

The DVD release news, from DVD Times, tells us that there's going to be an alternate ending included which just might help the issues with subtlety and clarity it had during the film release. However it doesn't look set to address everything, traditional horror scares filled the first half and just made it quite unintelligent and annoying. Read the Filmstalker review.
