Now this is exciting career news as the rumour appears that Vince Vaughn is to join the Paul Haggis scripted Against All Enemies starring Sean Penn, it does mark a good step forward in his mainly comedy filled career history.

From The Hollywood Reporter through Coming Soon comes the news that Haggis is looking to cast him as the former Treasury Secretary Paul O'Neill, although a deal hasn't been signed yet.

Interesting Penn recently case Vaughn in his film Into the Wild, and if Penn is slated to play Clark as the rumours suggest, then it wouldn't be that unfavourable an idea having had them work so closely together before.

Vaughn has had a couple of serious, or mostly serious roles before, and he's actually turned out pretty well in them all. I think behind that joking exterior is a strong drama actor, and perhaps with luck we'll get to see him in both these movies.
