Aniston to direct
Jennifer Aniston, along with Robin Wright Penn and other famous Hollywood ladies, are set to enter the world of directing as part of a series of short films being produced by Glamour (the correct spelling Martha!) magazine. The concept stinks to high heaven, but the idea that some great front of camera female talent is going to be behind the camera for the first time bolsters the whole project.
According to Cinematical the series of shorts will be based on true stories submitted by readers (is that like my husband slept with my neighbours daughter only to discover she was his long lost grand daughter idea?). The series is termed "by and about women" and is titled Reel Women. I'm getting a sickly feeling already.
They have a great quote from Aniston about how excited she is on the project...
"I think I like women. I support women."
Eh? Anyway, part of the profits are being sent to FilmAid International, which is a...
...nonprofit group that introduces women in underdeveloped countries to film
Now could they be more exclusive? I'm sure this could be better spent. What do you think of the project? Good idea? Publicity\marketing ploy? Or a good, worthwhile cause?
