Filmstalker: AVP2 script dropped

There was already a script out there for Alien vs Predator 2, now titled Alien vs Predator: Survival of the Fittest, where the Aliens race against Predators in a sports day of egg and spoon, sack, and three legged races. No, seriously, the previous script by Shane Salerno had the story taking place in Texas, and was apparently quite unpopular.

Word from AlienExperience.com through Jo Blo is that this script is gone and work is progressing on a totally new one. You can hear the AvP fans breathing a sigh of relief...actually you probably can't above the background noise.

The script is from the same man, Salerno himself, but just working on a different topic. There's no word if this is due to the negative reaction the first script got or not. Obviously it wasn't that bad if Salerno is back on the case.

I haven't seen the first yet, but it is an interesting concept, and from what I heard the filmmakers were loyal to both creatures. Did you see it? What did you think, and is there room for another?

The first definitely had some interesting ideas in the backstory, but that was about it as far as quality. All of the human involvement was utterly ridiculous, and the Alien/Predator battles were sometimes good, but the ultimate outcome was a bit stupid.

By checking out this post I deceided to go check the movie out. I did not "hate" it, I even had some fun watching it. I would dare to say it was well directed and filled 90 minutes of my life. I'm looking forward a number two but I would never go see it in theaters. Rental after a few months at best.

ok im sick of everyone putting down AVP 1 it was an awesome movie and i really enjoyed it. i was 12 years old in 2003 when i first herd an alien Vs predator movie was comin out. I personaly was a fan(big fan) of the preadtor and aliens series. I was so excited about avp and i was not dissipointed i was very happy with the movie. then i read the script review everyone knows about and they are changing. well i have some comments about that:

At the beginning when they have a Predalien that would be an awesome scene. and the whole concept of it taking place right after avp 1 is awesome and the plot of how they droped to earth was also very good. I did not dislike the script but it could have been better. the thing that really makes me mad is people saying the first avp sucks because i liked it very much. I hope they do not change the script a whole lot, and i hope they keep the opening scene with the Predalien bursting through the dead Predators body, i the Greatest AVP fan ever would terribley disipointed if they absolutley changed the script, took away the whole predalien idea and proubly wouldnt bother going to the movie at all... i hope the writer of the screenplay reads this because your a good writer, your just getting bad influence
