Bangkok Dangerous remake casts lead

BangkokDangerous.jpgBack in May I wrote about the remake of Bangkok Dangerous starring Nicolas Cage and helmed by the original directing team, the Pang Brothers. Now the announcement is made that the female lead has been cast.

It also appears the film has changed title, and is now called Time to Kill. From crienglish.com through Kung Fu Cult Cinema we hear that Hong Kong actress Charlie Yeung is set to take the female lead. She previously starred in Seven Swords (Chat gim) and New Police Story (San ging chaat goo si).

With shooting due to start in Thailand in mid-August, Young has already flown to Bangkok to start learning the Thai language and folk dances in preparation for her role.

The film tells a story about a cold-blooded deaf-mute assassin who heads to Bangkok only to wind up falling in love with a local girl and befriending one of the locals.

Strangely in the previous story we heard that the assassin would now talk, I mean could cage carry off a non-speaking role? Personally I hope that was rubbish and we're going to see a faithful Pang remake.
