Black Dahlia 2?

TheBlackDahlia.jpgWord is out that there's going to be another Black Dahlia film, no not a sequel to Brian DePalma's The Black Dahliafilm of the James Ellroy novel, no this is a film of the actual investigation of the case.

There's already another Dahlia film on the go called Black Dahlia which is a present day retelling of the story, and the trailer on the official sitelooks pretty poor, big clue it stars Masuimi Max, a model and performance artist who's quite famous on the internet.

Anyway, this other Dahlia movie is coming because New Line have just bought the rights to Steve Hodel’s book Black Dahlia Avenger. Through Empire comes the story behind the book...

...it chronicles the author’s investigation into the crime, leading to him concluding his father was behind the murder of Elizabeth Short – the Black Dahlia killing.

"I found out that George Hodel was the prime suspect all along," Hodel told Variety. "The D.A. was days away from arresting him, but the police department was very corrupt. The files were sanitized, the physical evidence disappeared."

I think this will compliment the DePalma film nicely, once the public are aware of the tale through this film then another film with the actual events will fit nicely on the back of it.

If anyone is really interested in the case, unsolved and mysterious as the Zodiac or the Jack the Ripper ones, read this book:

David Lynch was interested in making this, btw. I won´t be surprised if the movies are both of them a deception.

Youve read the book Peter?

Of course. Do you doubt it?

Just came back from watching de Palma's "The Black Dahlia", and my goodness, that film really dragged and how!

I'd curl up to my "L.A. Confidential" DVD anytime.

Working with Jimmy Stewart in It's a Wonderful Life was very demanding. He's so natural, so realistic, that I never knew whether he was talking to me or doing the scene.
