Exorcist Anthology on DVD

Dominion_Poster.jpgThe complete works of the Exorcist are coming to DVD, that means every single film and almost every single version, unfortunately the full William Peter Blatty version of Exorcist III is lost forver, however we will be treated to the full original Exorcist as well as both Paul Schrader's and Renny Harlin's prequels.

The list is from DVD Active through Arrow in the Head:

THE EXORCIST
THE EXORCIST: THE VERSION YOU'VE NEVER SEEN
EXORCIST II: THE HERETIC
EXORCIST III
EXORCIST: THE BEGINNING
DOMINION: PREQUEL TO THE EXORCIST

Expect this to be seen on the 10th of October at US $42.99 in the form of a big six disc boxset. No word yet on the extras, but the films alone are enough to make this an essential purchase. Would you consider this boxset? What extras, if there were no barriers, would you like to see?

I wish we could see the Blatty cut of Exorcist III, and full, unedited directors commentaries for all movies. What would also be great is a comparison, carried out with both Harlin and Schrader side by side, of the two prequel movies. It would be a masterclass to hear these two discuss the movies scene by scene.

Exorcist III was (and still is) one of the scariest movies I've ever seen...

A complete creep-fest and it's in my top 10 movies of all time...

These last couple they made were just a travesty to the franchise...I "reviewed" it at;

http://www.crzydjm.com/movies/def/exorcist_the_beginning.html

Close Dan, but that version is missing the rereleased version of Exorcist.

Call me crazy, crazy, but people can look no further than Filmstalker for the reviews:

Renny Harlin Exorcist The Beginning

Paul Schrader's Dominion: A Prequel to the Exorcist

Apologies, Richard...

I followed you over from The Movie Blog (guess I'm a Filmstalker Stalker!) and thought I'd share my thoughts as well...

Hope I didn't offend by the linkage in my original comment...

No, no Crazy. If I had been I'd have removed it! ;)

It's fine, the link was in context. No problem. You just made me remember about my reviews.

Ah, so it is.
