Garcia, Best Director and Best Film
Andy Garcia has won the Best Director and Best Film awards for his film The Lost City at the Imagen Awards which honours the best in Hispanic cinema and television.
The film has been receiving some strong IMDB scoring, but on Rotten Tomatoes it's not fared so well with critics rating it a low 22% (at time of writing).
One thing the critics are positive about though is Garcia's passion for the subject matter, although the length and they also crowd round the issue that the film is overly long and the narrative jumps about a bit. I think it would be fair to say that according to the critics the film wins more for it's subject matter than the way it is created. Yet it has won Film and Director awards and there are many positive things being said. Perhaps an acquired taste? Has anyone seen it and can comment?
