The trailer for The Grudge 2, the US sequel to The Grudge, the US remake of the Japanese horror Ju-on, is now online and watchable...as long as freaky asian horror doesn't scare you too much!

The trailer comes through Coming Soon and can be seen over at AOL Movies in their usual player.

I liked it, and it showed more of the same creepy style that Takashi Shimizu has brought us on all these movies. It looks to have retained much of the Asian influence, rather than becoming too Hollywood-ised, which is something that concerned me early on in production. However this trailer looks good.

It's quite interesting how the suspense builds one moment to a quick scare or just holds on that creepy moment, and then drops away to nothing. Traditionally trailers of this ilk will build and build, but this bounds up and down suggesting the film will have the same effect on the audience. There's quite a lull in the middle though, and I'm not sure if this effect is working as intended.

What do you think? Great trailer, especially for being different, or is something not hitting right on it?
