George A. Romero is set to write and direct a story from the pen of Koji Suzuki who is responsible for writing some superb works including Ringu (The Ring) and Honogurai mizu no soko kara (Dark Water).

From The Hollywood Reporter through Coming Soon comes the news that he's bringing Solitary Isle to the screen, a story about a group of explorers who on a journey to a deserted island face an unknown force.

It may not sound like much but in the hands of Suzuki and then Romero I'm sure it's going to be something freaky and very scary. If you haven't read Suzuki before you should, forget what you've seen on film, this guy is even weirder.
