Ledger speaks on Joker

HeathLedger.jpgHeath Ledger has spoken on his new role as Joker in the Batman Begins sequel The Dark Knight, and what he has to say is promising and perhaps points to why he got the role in the first place.

According to a couple of quotes in JAM Movies and The Toronto Star through Superhero Hype, he's got a fair handle on the character already:

"It's definitely going to stump people. I think it'll be more along the lines of how the Joker was meant to be in the comics, darker and more sinister."...

...It's going to be more nuanced and dark and more along the lines of a Clockwork Orange kind of feel. Which is, I think, what the comic book was after: less about his laugh and more about his eyes.

Oh wow, I think he nailed it on that last comment, what do you think? Is this rightfully our next look at the Joker? I'm beginning to warm on the idea.

Ok so maybe I could get used to the idea of Ledger as The Joker. I'm still not sure of his "look" for Joker, but if he can approach the role like he described, holy interesting perspective Batman!

I am intrigued by it. "More about the eyes" They want to make a different thing, probably a never seen one. I wonder how Ledger will be able to satisfy the requirements.
