Bionic Woman returns?

TheBionicWoman.jpgAccording to reports this morning Jamie Summers, The Bionic Woman, is to make a comeback. Not the Million Dollar Man, but the spin off show which starred Lindsay Wagner and the superb Richard Anderson as Oscar Goldman.

An executive producer from Battlestar Galactica has had the idea and he's teamed up with a screenwriter to develop the project for NBC. Frankly I don't get it, surely the Bionic Man is a stronger story? Still, with what they did with Battlestar there's a lot of hope for this project.

From Variety through Superhero Hype:

"Battlestar Galactica" executive producer David Eick is teaming with feature screenwriter Laeta Kalogridis to reinvent The Bionic Woman for NBC...Eick and Kalogridis will executive produce a new take on "Bionic," a 1970s spinoff of "The Six Million Dollar Man" in which Lindsay Wagner played tennis pro-turned-superwoman Jamie Sommers...

..."It's a complete reconceptualization of the title," Eick told the trade. "We're using the title as a starting point, and that's all."

Ah so everything will be different. Perhaps then they could make this work, combine the best of both series into one perhaps? A Bionic Alias series? Who can tell, I just think we have to be prepared to let go of our love for the original...if there is any out there!
