Catch a Fire trailer online

TimRobbins.jpgI am totally convinced I already wrote about the film Catch a Fire which tells of the making of a terrorist in South Africa starring Tim Robbins and Derek Luke, but I can't find it anywhere. Regardless the trailer is now online.

The film tells the true story of a man who was taken by the South African anti-terrorist police and harshly interrogated in connection with a terrorist attack on his workplace. The interrogations also included his family and both he and his wife are jailed. It's this act that makes the innocent Patrick Chamusso turn against his Government, and rise up as a terrorist to fight against them. In effect by imprisoning and interrogating him, they made him a terrorist.

It sounds a very fitting tale for our time and reflects current events quite harshly. The trailer can now be seen online over at Strmz Video and you should definitely see it as it does tell a powerful tale and carries a strong message.

The film is directed by Phillip Noyce who also brought us The Quiet American, Rabbit-Proof Fence and a couple of the Clancy adaptations. The trailer does suggest he's onto another exciting film with some strong political sub texts.
