The first photos from the Clint Eastwood film Letters from Iwo Jima, the other side of the story of Flags of Our Fathers, have arrived online and they do look beautifully shot.

You can see the photos over at Filmbyen.net through Cinematical where there are a couple of Eastwood in the thick of things and a few of actual on set action.

I'm majorly looking forward to these films, first and foremost because I think Eastwood is an amazing director who really does manage to do so much by doing so little, but also to see how he presents the two sides of this story and to see if once again he can carry us an incredibly strong message through entertaining, if harrowing, films.
