Jesse Owens gets cast
The character of one of the most famous black atheletes of all time, Jesse Owens, has been cast. Anthony Mackie is set to play the runner who entered the 1936 Berlin Olympics and took four gold medals in front of Adolf Hitler.
The film will follow Owens as he builds up his career to this high point of his life, a point that made an incredible statement to Hitler and the Nazi's.
According to Variety through Coming Soon James L. White wrote the screenplay, White also wrote Ray.
This'll be a huge role for Mackie, and perhaps something that he will be connected to for the rest of his career.
