Variety through Commongate reports that filming will begin in October for Revenge of the Nerds, a remake of the original.

I'm not even going to bother listing the cast because, to be honest, this looks like the poorest of the poor remakes. Nerds was a classic and that was heavily down to the time it came to the screen, a time of computer nerds and geeky D&D players (and before you complain I was one, so I know!). Now I can just see it turning into another beer and breasts film. I'm really not interested in this movie at all, and I can hardly believe that they are scraping the underside of the barrel for these stories. What's the point? What's the need? Where's the market?
