Sarsgaard joins Gyllenhaal and Witherspoon

PeterSarsgaard.jpgRendition is a film fast growing a strong cast and great potential, and this has just been expanded with the announcement that Peter Sarsgaard has signed up for the film alongside Jake Gyllenhaal and Reese Witherspoon. The film is being directed by Gavin Hood who gave us the superb Tsotsi (review).

The story is about a CIA analyst whose life is totally changed around when they witness a foreigner interrogated by the Egyptian Secret Police. The foreigner is an Egyptian born US citizen who is snatched up and returned to the country as a political prisoner. The latest casting news comes from Empire.

Shades of addressing Guantanamo without actually addressing it? The cast looks strong, the director certainly is, and the story seems like it could pack a few punches. Definitely sounds like a watcher.

Ahh so prospective bro-in-laws together in a movie eh?
