Brosnan returns to spy role

PierceBrosnan.jpgPierce Brosnan is set to return to the spy game in a film called Spy vs. Stu.

The premise is simple. Stu takes girlfriend to remote island to propose, on the other side of the island a spy has just finished up his latest mission and he bumps into the couple. Taking a liking for Stu's young lady and Stu has to battle him for her affections. No doubt she's gotten bored of him wating for him to propose and wants to play along a little while she enjoys the attention. Throw in a couple of misunderstandings that bring the relationship close to breaking and there you have the story I'm sure.

According to The Hollywood Reporter through Coming Soon Brosnan's Irish Dream company are producing and there's no word yet on a director.

Is there any interest in this, and is Brosnan still playing up to the Bond thing? Mind you, why shouldn't he squeeze out as much as he can from the franchise? Yet are we a little tired of this? Is there any desire left for this kind of plot?

Is this a comedy or what?
