Freddie Mercury film in production
Brian May, the big haired guitarist of Queen, has announced that there's a Freddie Mercury film in the works and that casting has begun.
Mercury was the lead singer of Queen, one of the best bands ever, and the band who were responsible for music videos becoming art forms in themselves. They produced some great music and a wide variety of styles, all sporting that superb Mercury voice which had such incredible range. Remember the soundtrack to Flash Gordon, Highlander or more recently that car scene in Wayne's World Not to mention the cracking tunes they came out with outside of film. Fat Bottomed Girls, We Will Rock You, Crazy Little Thing Called Love, I Want to Break Free...I could go on forever.
According to Daily Express "Newspaper" through Cinematical:
"There is a film in the pipeline and we're all involved in it. I'm not allowed to say much about it and casting isn't finalised but we've had some incredible offers to play Freddie. Really incredible,"
I'd love to see this film, but I want to see it done well, with an actor who really can carry off the part of Freddie. No poor lipsyncing please, someone who really can capture the on stage excitement and passion of Mercury.
