Joy Division is a misleading title for this World War II, spy, lost love type film, but that's the title none the less, misleading and poorly chosen, and yet the film looks extremely interesting.

The story charts from the end of World War II, when a German teenager is caught in the advancing Russian front and captured. He's taken away from everything he knows, including his love. Seventeen years later he emerges from Russia as a KGB spy and is sent to London where he falls in love with another woman and struggles with his secret life.
