LeBeouf talks Transformers sequels
During an interview about his appearance in Bobby, Shia LeBeouf let slip two very contradictory things side by side about the possibility of a sequel for Transformers.
Before we go into that though, let's just realise a couple of things. Transformers is going to be a mammoth film, it's going to be huge and there's no getting away from that, and it will make a bunch of money. We will all go and see it, and even if it doesn't break records in the box office it'll do incredibly well on DVD, there's no denying it. So with that in mind is there any doubt that we're going to have sequels? I don't.
That said, LeBeouf seems to be playing with us a little as he speaks in an interview over at About:Movies through Comic Book Movies:
"The biggest movie in Hollywood. You don’t get bigger than $250 million robots blowing up the world. I don’t plan on making any other – I mean, I’m going to do Transformers 2 and 3 so that will be my Lord of the Rings."
Okay, hold on, he just started to say he wasn't planning on making another and then forgets that he's signed up for two more...errmmm...what's that about?
We know that routinely when actors sign up for a film that has the potential for sequels, the studio will throw in a clause in their contract that makes sure they will make room in their schedule and return for a sequel, but it's just there to make sure they're available, just in case.
That said, Transformers is one of these films that will definitely spawn sequels, so why was LeBeouf about to say he wasn't returning?
