My Name is Bruce in 2007
The writer of My Name is Bruce - the film with the genius plot device of bringing Zombies to a real world small town and having everyone believe Bruce Campbell is Ash and can protect them all, except he's just Bruce - has seen the director's assembly for the film and loves it.
According to HorrorMovies.ca, Mark Verheiden on his own blog has written:
"I've just seen Bruce Campbell's director's assembly of MY NAME IS BRUCE, and while this is obviously biased, I'll just say it -- there are some gut-bustingly funny scenes in this baby. If you're a fan of Bruce's, umm, more "manic" style in the EVIL DEAD movies, you're gonna be in hog heaven. There is one crazy take of Bruce simply trying to get a door unlocked that had me falling out of my chair... it's great to finally see the madness come together! Post production continues and we're still looking at a theatrical release for 2007, so keep watching your multiplex!".
Wow, that is fast. I hadn't expected to hear so much from this project so soon, a 2007 release? If post production is continuing then it could be an early release too. Oh, and for those of you who don't know, the director is...Bruce Campbell himself.
If Bruce is at his most manic then this film could be utterly superb, but in all honesty the Campbell project I'm holding out for is Bubba Nosferatu and the Curse of the She-Vampires, mind you, to see him direct himself as a mad Bruce Campbell?
