Halloween casts Myers

Halloween.jpgAccording to rumour the lead for Rob Zombie's Halloween has been announced. We've already heard that the female lead is most likely going to be Danielle Harris and that Dr Loomis will be Malcom MacDowell, now we hear who is going to be playing the role of Michael Myers himself.

HorrorMovies.ca tells us that Zombie has confirmed that the adult Myers will be played by Tyler Mane. Mane is also known for Sabretooth in the X-Men films, Rufus from Devils Rejects, and Ajax in Troy. This guy is big and mean, will he make a good Myers?

Also from HorrorMovies.ca comes the rumour that the young Myers will be played by Daeg Faersch from FreakShow. They get the tip from one of their readers who has seen the casting notes.

What do you think of the casting? Neither are huge actors, and Zombie is attempting a classic horror, can this really work out?

I can totally see Malcom as Dr. Loomis, but I do think Tyler Mane is an interesting choice. Sure Michael has always been a big ominous figure and Mane is a big guy, but part of the scary is that we don't see Myers' face - I hope that part stays in place.
