Live Free or Die Hard teaser trailer online

LiveFreeDieHard.jpgLive Free or Die Hard is moments away from the premiere of it's teaser online. Why do I say this? Well the links have been banded around for the clips already, and try as you might you just can't get the damn thing to play. Some people have seen them already of course, but the rest of us will have to wait until they officially go live.

You can keep your eye out for the teaser trailer over at Yahoo Movies where it's appearing in Quicktime medium resolution, Quicktime high resolution as well as Windows Media Player. Apparently, according to dtheatre who had the links, we're even waiting on the High Definition version as well.

Before it was taken down CHUD managed to see it. Here's a few words of what they say:

As a teaser there’s not much indication of what the heck this movie is about beyond stuff slamming into other stuff – cars into concrete, trucks into cars, people into cars, cars into helicopters...is a complete throwback to the days when movies dispensed with plot and dialogue and filled the gaps with squibs and explosions...

...I am shocked that a man being blown out of a building and falling four or more stories to land on – and fall off of! – a car hood is acceptable in a green band trailer. I am also shocked that the unbelievably bad effects in that shot where Willis and boytoy Justin Long just miss getting flattened by a flying car is acceptable...

Oh dear...that makes me want to see it even more. What I hope is that they've really isolated the action for the teaser, that's why it's nothing but action...I hope. First one to see it post something about it.

The teaser can still be seen in Quicktime at Movie-List here http://www.movie-list.net/exclusive/live-free-or-die-hard.mov

The action all looks pretty great, but it truly is all action and no story. I'm reserving judgment for now because it has the potential to really be bad, story- and character-wise - but I desperately want it to be great!

Thanks for the trailer link Burbanked. I'm having issues with Yahoo movies lately too, I still can't get the HD trailer for 300 to work AT ALL for some blasted reason.

Anyway, the teaser looks, ehh, ok. Agree on lots of action and not much else shown. His character looks very different too. Less, scruffy then the last three. More clean shaven, more sober too, and just ehh, doesn't look right to me.

Cheers Burbanked. I just watched it with my cornflakes.

Actually I disagree with CHUD - so there's all the action, well it's an action film and the scene with the guy falling isn't that tough because you're not shown that much especially from underneath and there's no close up of his face.

I sniggered at that closing line too, it's kind of fun. Actually it all looks a lot more "ramped up" than before.

actually I thought it was pretty awesome. I did have a couple issues, such as:

1: McClain looks too clean shaven, but hey. He's older now, so maybe that's ok.

2: The sidekick doesnt seem to have the charisma that Zeus had from number 3.

3: There is no 3. I just like having 3 in my lists to round it out.

Mainly I have to say the effects didnt' look that bad. But that It's going to be interesting to see how Die Hard ends up stacking against such big budget action fests as we have nowadays.

When it first hit the scene, wasn't this series pretty much THE biggest thing going? Now every movie tries to be that gigantic. I'm still looking forward to this film.

At heart, I am still breathing a sigh of relief that Justin Timberlake didn't make it into this movie.

I thought the teaser was ok. Nice action. Agree with the others that McClane looks too clean but maybe it's something to do with him showing maturity, taking control of his life, etc. Maybe he's making an effort to get Holly back.

Anyway, the teaser has done it's job... we have been teased, and I would like some more.

I think the film looks quite good. I've just seen the trailer and I must admit to being slightly excited. The fact that Bruce/McClane looks clean-shaven may be down to the fact that he's perhaps had a shave that morning (maybe even an in joke that we see in the movie - John McClane shaving). The special effects look great, though every movie pretty much has 1 or 2 dodgy effects in them, so I’m not expecting to be overwhelmed. All in all, the film is going to be huge and I'll definitely be there on the day.

At least the old moguls had the courage of their convictions and the authority to act on them. Today they're terrified of making decisions. You have to have eight meetings even to order the toilet paper.
