Is Arnold Schwarzenegger going to team up with James Cameron on something other than Terminator? Well according to rumour Saturn 3 is going to be remade with Cameron producing and Arnie providing the voice of the lead robot.

It is wild rumour at the moment with the story coming from WENN through Starpulse News Blog, so huge bags of salt with that WENN rumour which I haven't heard anywhere else as yet.

Still, it is an interesting one because the Saturn 3 film has some great things to say, is quite creepy, and has the talents of Kirk Douglas, Harvey Keitel and Farrah Fawcett. I actually think it's quite worthy of a remake and could really attract a fair strength of cast.

The original story is good. Three people are on a remote spacestation off Saturn, Adam (Douglas) and Alex (Fawcett) are lovers, and Benson (Keitel) is the science officer whose mind is used to create the artificially intelligent and rather huge robot. Benson has a crush on Alex, and who could blame him, and those feelings of jealousy and protection get transferred over to the robot...oh dear.

It's an enjoyable film and to see it remade well would be great, but it deserves a strong cast and a decent filmmaker behind it. Whether Arnie voices the robot or not I don't think really matters, but whether Cameron produces very much does.
