Critics Choice Awards 2007 Winners

MartinScorsese.jpgThe Critics Choice Awards have been announced and the winners have a few surprises in there.

The Departed (Filmstalker review) grabs Best Picture, as well as Director for Scorsese. Actor and Actress are as expected and well deserved. Then there's the praise for Dreamgirls and Little Miss Sunshine with Beyoncé taking the Best Song. Oh, and Eastwood gets Best Foreign Film for Letters from Iwo Jima.

Here's the full list from Yahoo News:

Best Picture: The Departed
Actor: Forest Whitaker, The Last King of Scotland
Actress: Helen Mirren, The Queen
Supporting Actor: Eddie Murphy, Dreamgirls
Supporting Actress: Jennifer Hudson, Dreamgirls
Acting Ensemble: Little Miss Sunshine
Director: Martin Scorsese, The Departed
Writer: Michael Arndt, Little Miss Sunshine
Animated Feature: Cars
Young Actor: Paul Dano, Little Miss Sunshine
Young Actress: Abigail Breslin, Little Miss Sunshine
Comedy Movie: Borat
Family Film (Live Action): Charlotte's Web
Picture Made for Television: Elizabeth I
Foreign-Language Film: Letters from Iwo Jima
Song: "Listen," Dreamgirls (Beyoncé)
Soundtrack: Dreamgirls
Composer: Philip Glass, The Illusionist
Documentary Feature: An Inconvenient Truth

I think that's a fair list actually, and more reinforcement of Whitaker and Mirren for the Oscars. The way ahead looks great for Murphy once again, now if he can stay clear of those rubbish comedies.
