Jackboots gains McGregor and Griffiths
Great news for the British film Jackboots on Whitehall as Ewan McGregor signs for the lead character, an heroic Scottish farmhand who leads the resistance, and Richard Griffiths signs up to play the voice of Hermann Goering, the head of the Luftwaffe.
The casting news comes from Reuters through Yahoo News. As soon as I heard about the story I was excited, and seeing the cast even more so. Here's the previous list from an earlier Filmstalker story:
Timothy Spall as Churchill, Alan Cumming as Hitler, Tom Wilkinson as Goebbels and Richard O'Brien as Himmler, along with Rosamund Pike, Richard E. Grant and Sanjeev Bhaskar. One American role remains to be cast.
That's a great cast, and if you can't remember the plot, here's the deal:
...will feature action figures as the main characters, in a story where the Germans have won the Battle of Britain and defeated the English but have yet to fight against the Scottish nation.
Sounds fantastic fun and a great cast, but the question is how is it going to look? How are they going make the action figures work on screen?
