There's some stills online for the very strange sounding Dead Silence from James Wan and Leigh Wannell the Saw franchise guys, and they look creepy. The pictures, not the guys...although...

James and Lisa are newleyweds, that is until her gruesome murder - there goes the honeymoon. He returns to the town where they grew up, a town filled with old ghost stories, and tries to find out what happened to her. As the prime suspect James has to find the real murderer before he's blamed for it, and in the process he uncovers the curse of the murdered ventriloquist and the dummy with a mind of its own.

I have to say it does sound a laughable plot. A murdering and possibly possessed ventriloquist's dummy? Then I saw the picture above, a larger one of which can be seen over at Bloody Disgusting. It's creepy looking.

Still I can't help but finding it funny, and the connection with the Saw puppet is so obvious I can't seem to shake it. Yet if it's this creepy does it really matter? Can these guys find success outwith Saw?
