Shatner and Nimoy in Star Trek XI!
Here's an amazing quote from William Shatner that says J.J. Abrams and his team are definitely trying to write he and Leonard Nimoy into Star Trek XI.
According to UK IGN through TrekMovie.com, Shatner responded to the question of if he'd talked to Abrams about the film with:
"Actually, I did, and they're working very hard on a story. They seem to be going in the direction of putting in [Leonard] Nimoy and myself. But in order to do that, it's a difficult story to write. So they're in the midst of wrestling with all of that."
However he's not sure how they're going to do it and he and Nimoy are adamant it has to be something a little more than a cameo.
"But in order to entice Leonard and myself into the movie, it has to be meaningful in some way, so I don't know what they're gonna do."
I'm torn about this, the inclusion of the two actors as their characters might come off a little twee, I mean are they going to have to employ some sort of time travelling in order for them to be included, or perhaps flashbacks?
You know I would love for them to have had their era and for this new film to do what Enterprise did, and should have been allowed to continue doing.
What do you feel about this new Trek? Would you want Shatner and Nimoy back and how could you possibly see it working?
