Sigourney Weaver on Cameron's Avatar?

SigourneyWeaver.jpgPreviously it was rumoured that Michael Biehn has joined James Cameron's Avatar. As a common actor on Cameron's work it's no big surprise, and great to see him on the project. More vastly wild rumour today puts Sigourney Weaver on the cast list too.

Now keep that salt handy (I have mine out just now because we've just had a day of snow) as the rumour was emailed to AICN:

Sigourney Weaver was invited on a show called "le grand journal" here in france, and she was asked if she would do another "alien"...

She said no, she said that everything has been said about this creature and for her, it's over..

BUT she said that she will be making a big sci-fi movie with james cameron... But she didn't want to talk too much about it...

So that could well be Avatar, or even Battle Angel. Either way I'm not sure there's a great thrill to be had from the news, other than there will be a great actress onboard the film.

What I find it hard not to focus on is the complete shutdown of another Alien film, and for me that's a little sad. I would have loved to have seen one last film following the comic books and having an Earth overrun with Aliens, humans being farmed, worshipping them, fighting against them, and so on.

Seeing her either embracing one side of herself and choosing either to run with the Aliens or Humans would be great, but having her stand as her own character in amongst that madness would be superb. Was I the only one who thought she was a thoroughly delicious character in Alien: Resurrection?

I don't feel we did wrong in taking this great country away from the Indians. Our so-called stealing of this country from them was just a matter of survival. There were great numbers of people who needed new land, and the Indians were selfishly trying to keep it for themselves.
