The Killer Inside Me corrects Director
So the latest news is that Marc Rocco is not directing The Killer Inside Me, and that he never was.
Variety, who originally had the story, seemingly got it wrong and when IGN checked with the producers of the film and they quite harshly denied any knowledge of Rocco being involved, and in fact producer Chris Hanley has actually revealed another name.
"This Variety article is the first I have heard the name Marc Rocco in association with my motion picture project Killer Inside Me. ... I was not consulted at all by Variety, or by any of the people purporting to be financing or directing the movie in that article.""I certainly was not in a position to support the director etc. as stated in the article as I knew nothing about it. And I am the main rights holder I may add."
He continued, "I had been working with director John Curran (We Don't Live Here Anymore, The Painted Veil) on this movie in recent months..."
Apparently Hanley is working on a retraction with Variety so that they can withdraw any associations from the previously released story. Oh dear for Variety, this is the second slip up they've made as reported by CHUD. Is the news source starting to feel the bite from the Internet news sites?
Regardless of who, it does look like it will go ahead. Interestingly though the different director brings a totally different idea and feel to the film.
