They Came From Upstairs for kids and adults

They Came From Upstairs is a new film from the director Thor Freudenthal and written by Mark Burton, who you may recognise from writing Madagascar, Wallace & Gromit in The Curse of the Were-Rabbit (Filmstalker review). The film is about a group of children who have to defend themselves, and their home, from alien invaders, invaders who have landed on the roof and are coming downstairs.

You know it's so simple and it seems wonderful, a very child like story that you can actually imagine playing when you were a kid, and it's going to be a film. I'm quite taken with the idea.

The story comes from Variety through Coming Soon.

What do you think, something to capture kids and adults alike, particularly if it's with a Wallace & Gromit writer.

This might just be this generation's Goonies, if you know what I mean.
