Whitaker for Guillaume Musso's Et après adaptation

ForestWhitaker.jpgForest Whitaker has a talent for picking unusual roles, and his latest sounds just that. He is negotiating to star in Afterwards, an adaptation of the novel Et après... by Guillaume Musso.

According to Production Weekly Whitaker would play Nathan Del Amico, a divorced and very successful lawyer whose life is pretty bleak apart from work. One day he meets Garret Goodrich, a doctor who claims he can sense when people are about to die and that he is sent to help them put their life in order before the end comes. Of course Nathan doesn't believe it at first, but then events back up his story, and he realises it is he who Goodrich has been sent to help.

Sounds really interesting, perhaps something of a modern telling of It's a Wonderful Life, but then it's only a blurb and I can't find a comprehensive review of the book. Has anyone read it and can flesh out the idea more for us all?
