Asian Eye remake gains Nivola and Posey
The remake of the Asian horror The Eye has just attracted the gaze of Alessandro Nivola and Parker Posey, adding to the buldging cast of Jessica Alba.
Just a quick recap, although I do this every time, The Eye is the story of a woman who has cornea transplants from someone who had the vision. As soon as she wakes up after the operation she finds that she now has the gift, or curse, too.
The original was filmed by the Pang Brothers and is set to be remade by the hugely promising talents of David Moreau and Xavier Palud who have shot to fame with their horror-thriller Ils (review), which I heartily recommend.
The casting announcements come from Variety
I'm quite looking forward to this remake, and not for the gorgeous Alba, but for Palud and Moreau behind the lens. The original film had some great moments, but it also missed the mark on some big scenes, so I'm hoping they can actually be the first to deliver a better film than the Asian original.
