Bateman joins Garner for Juno

JasonBateman.jpgAfter seeing Jason Bateman in Smokin' Aces (Filmstalker review) and seeing some of his upcoming serious work I find myself wondering why he and Jennifer Garner are teaming up in a dull sounding coming of age comedy.

The film is called Juno and tells the story of the aforementioned Juno, played by Ellen Page, who is pregnant and the couple played by Bateman and Garner want to adopt the child from her. Oh laughs a minute. It's actually the kind of story that might work better being serious.

The story comes from Yahoo Movies Allison Janney has also signed and Michael Cera is to play the man responsible for Juno's pregnancy, the commonly called, Father.

Why is it that two actors such as Garner and Bateman are set on doing such lacklustre comedies?
