Bousman confirms directing Saw IV

DarrenLynnBousman.jpgDarren Lynn Bousman once said he was done with the Saw franchise, then we heard that he was directing Saw IV, so to explain what is going on here's the man himself.

The rumors are in fact true... "I'LL BE BACK"...

...At first I turned it down just on principle... I have been WAY to lucky with the past films to warrant or RISK me coming back... And then I read the script... I read the draft of SAW IV... My first reaction....

...This script was good... no... not good... GREAT... I was totally prepared for this script to JUMP THE SHARK - - I mean - we are on our THIRD sequel - where in [****] sake to you go from here? In the case of this script... UP!...

...I met with writers to give them my two cents... The next thing I knew I was all giddy like a school girl about where the film and the franchise was headed...

...I would be INSANE if I didn't do it...

Those are his comments on his official MyMarketingSpace page through AITH.

Okay so it's fair to say that Bousman is in, the script is looking superb, and we're going to see a Saw IV very soon. He does confirm that Repo! The Genetic Opera is happening and that it will be entirely sung with over thirty five songs. They are being recorded before the film is shot and that means he has eight months free, hence he's signed up for Saw IV.

So the rumour is true and from the sounds of it we're set for a superb ride. Here's hoping it answers our questions, but you can be damned sure that it will keep going after the fourth, of that there's no doubt.

For me this is all good news, I like the series despite it's failings, and the news that we're not likely to be treated to a half attempted sequel is excellent.
