Cage produces The Sorcerer's Apprentice
Nicolas Cage is teaming up with Todd Garner to produce a film which might just star him. The Sorcerer's Apprentice is a live action feature for Disney and is inspired by the poem by Johann Wolfgang Goethe.
The poem tells the story of an old sorcerer who leaves his workshop in the hands of his apprentice who's not yet fully trained in magic. He gets a broomstick to do his chores and things go terribly out of control. Sound familiar? Just think of that Fantasia sequence from Disney.
According to Variety Lawrence Konner and Mark Rosenthal (Superman IV, Desperate Hours, Star Trek IV: The Undiscovered Country, Mercury Rising, Planet of The Apes, Flicka) have written the script, okay I've been a little selective there as there are a couple of stinkers in their past, The Beverly Hillbillies anyone?
Still with Cage involved. What am I saying...Cage is getting a complete midas touch on his career, I can't see this working well for him.
