Columbus to direct Dilbert film?

Dilbert.jpgCould there really be a Dilbert film? Well Chris Columbus has snapped up the rights to the cartoon. Previously this sat with Columbia, the people who made a TV series out of the character, but now it's with Warner Brothers and Columbus.

I guess this sits will with the writer/director and could match his style quite well, but I don't know if the power of Dilbery will be lost in a film. Was it lost in the TV series? Could Dilbert make it through? Live action or animation? I think the answer to that is quite clear really.

The news comes from Moviehole and really has me scratching my head, is it really worth a film? Or will it just end up an animated version of a Mr Bean film?

The sheer gutlessness of the people who make the decisions of the major Hollywood studios, and I want you to quote me, is terrifying.
