Darwin film on family and evolution

CharlesDarwin.jpgThere's a movie being planned about Charles Darwin, which sounds much more interesting than that little intro would suggest.

The film will focus on a difficult time of his life and is based on the biography Annie's Box written by Randal Keynes his great grandson.

It tells about his relationship with his family, as well as looking at his incredible drive to produce his highly controversial work on evolution. Darwin was writing The Origin of the Species and was slowly being led towards agnosticism through his work, however it was then his daughter Annie died at a mere twn years old and he turned to his faith and his work to help him through.

That does sound a really interesting story of great historical importance, controversy and a great dichotomy of religion and evolution shown in his own life and in the world through his work.

John Collee is working on the adaptation with Jon Amiel set to direct with the film hitting a planned 2009 release date, the bicentennial of Darwin's birth. I'm definitely interested, it does sound quite a stirring and involved story.
