There's nothing to group this little piece of news with, so I'll try and stretch it out a bit, however it is interesting news. It appears that the funding has just been found for Iron Man, does that explain why the rumour was going round that a script hasn't been finalised as yet?

According to a Marvel Entertainment press release through SuperheroHype the funding has now been approved and distributors have been found.

Marvel Entertainment, Inc. announced today that it has satisfied all funding requirements under the Company's previously announced $525 million non-recourse credit facility and has begun borrowing from the facility to finance its first self-produced and financed feature film, Iron Man. Additionally, Marvel has finalized distribution deals for Iron Man and The Incredible Hulk in the international territories for which it controls distribution rights.

In fact distribution rights have more or less been scored worldwide, with a mixture of companies getting the rights.

So it looks like all systems are go. Now I can't find that rumour that I wrote about a little while ago that there wasn't a finalised script for Iron Man and it was getting dangerously close to the filming date...no, I've found it.

Of course these rumours could have been for any number of reasons, from a small couple of points to be polished to something bigger. However now that finances are secured I expect we'll hear about a completed script as soon as.
