New Hot Fuzz trailer online
There's one last trailer online for Hot Fuzz, and it's crammed full of everyone and everything, and it's online now for you to see in three sizes of Quicktime.
You know since I've seen all the clips and trailers from the film I haven't really seen that much of Timothy Dalton, and yet when I see the little shots of him, or the excited few words "Here come the fuzz", I really do get excited about seeing him play this baddie. There's something about Dalton as a bad guy that he just pulls off so well, and this is starting to be one of the most attractive parts of this film for me.
So to the trailer, which flies by so quickly you'll be wondering what happened. So watch it a few times to take everything in. It's a cracker, and that music is superb. According to Empire who scored the exclusive, the music is by Robert Rodriguez, yes him. As Edgar Wright said of the trailer which he cut:
"All the other trailers have been for mainstream audiences...and we wanted to make a really geeky one. And when Robert’s score came in, I loved it, it sounded like something from [kickass ‘80s Powers Boothe movie] Extreme Prejudice, and I thought, 'this is like trailer music'. He thought the same thing!"
According to Empire, who spoke with Wright just before posting the trailer, the film is scored by David Arnold apart from two scenes which Rodriguez did at Wright's request:
"I asked him to do it, and I got the music back within 72 hours. The funny thing is, for those sequences the temp music I had been using was a cue from Terminator 2 called 'Trust Me', a big bombastic Brad Fiedel piece of music, and Robert said, 'I’ve been using the same piece on Grindhouse!'"
Nice. Well, head over to Empire for the full write up and the three sizes of trailer. I'm going to give you the direct link to the big one over at Working Title Films [QT:L]. Enjoy. Now tell us, how can you not be looking forward to this?
