New Marlon Brando documentary with unseen footage

MarlonBrando.jpgThere's a new documentary coming about the legendary actor Marlon Brando and it's going to feature a vast array of major stars.

A two part documentary will honour the man and his career and will feature friends, family and stars from his life. It will feature never before seen footage of the man, as these things always do, in-depth interviews which have hardly ever been seen, and it will also look into his civil rights work as well as his work with groups such as the Black Panthers and Native American leaders.

It looks set to be a great insight into the man looking at who he was and what he believed in rather than just his acting career. That doesn't go unheard though, as stars such as James Caan, Martin Scorsese and Dennis Hooper will talk about his work.

According to IMDB the documentary will show in May in the US and I'm looking forward to a wider release. I don't know about you but the power of Brando is just so alluring, just look at the fuss made recently when he was reworked digitally for Superman Returns (Filmstalker review), you can't fail to be drawn to his acting and his life story.

That's why make sure you see The Godfather soon now, as it's one of his brilliant performances in his great career and to think that the studio didnt even want him to play the part!

Just acting in a movie you are practicing empathy; you are imagining what it is like to be another human being...and for an audience to sit together and share the experience of another person's hopes and fears...Just the simple act of attending a movie is a world bettering act; a social learning.
- Natalie Portman
