Number 23 cast interviewed online

Number23.jpgThere's an excellent interview online with the cast of Number 23. Joel Schumacher, Jim Carrey, Danny Huston and the stunning Virginia Madsen are all there.

The film is about a man who becomes obsessed with the number 23 after finding a book about the number, slowly he comes to believe that the book is about him, about his life, and with that dawning belief comes a growing madness.

As I've said oft, I love Carrey when he's in a serious role, he's superb, and I do believe he should drop the comedy and stick with this, and thankfully Michael touches on that topic in his interview over at MoviesOnline. Here's some snippets:

Jim Carrey: And then it began...our names together were 23 letters (referring to him and Virginia) and our names together (referring to him and Schumacher) are 23 letters.

Virginia Madsen: And it’s his 23rd film (referring to Schumacher)...

...Joel Schumacher: Well, I hired Danny and Virginia...I found out they had been married once.

Virginia Madsen: 23 years ago!

Oooh, perhaps there's more to this than meets the eye? My birthdate is 03/12/1970. 3+1+2+1+9+7 = 23!! Okay, onto more pressing questions!

When he was asked about his career and serious roles he said that he believes both serious and comic roles are similar to him:

I really have always thought of myself as somebody who lives in the middle of the wheel and is able to go to the extreme, to the outside of the wheel in any direction

I like that, but I still wish he would stick to the serious stuff, or give us a long blast of those performances.

Anyway, check out the interview, it's a really good read because the cast get involved in each question and it seems like they have a lot of fun together.

Nobody's done anything to my book. It's right up there on the shelf. Hollywood mangles movies, not books.
