Rumour has it that Peter Gallagher, currently known for his fatherly role in The O.C., has tried out for a part in The Incredible Hulk.

According to one of those darned sources, he had to take some time off of O.C. to do the screen test:

"Thought you might be interested. My fiancee works at the CW network in **********...thought you'd be interested to know that Peter Gallagher has been up [he may have it by now? or not] for a role in the "Hulk" sequel. His scenes on the final episode had to be shifted around, because of some kind of test on the movie. Anyway, could be old news..."

That's what the source said over at IESB.net.

They followed it up earlier today, I was holding off on the rumour for a bit, and they talked to his agent's office who said:

"need to speak to Peter's publicist." When asked if they could even comment about it at all, or give a "no comment" response, they refused and said simply, "You need to talk with his publicist."

They are following it up and as of now there's no further comment, but it is safe to say he's been in for a test. So who would he be playing? Frankly he looks great for the part of a world weary Banner. Do you think that's the role he's up for? The lead in The Incredible Hulk?
